How to Measure

  • Neck: Measure at the narrowest point, typically just below the larynx
  • Waist: Measure at naval level in a relaxed position
  • Hips (women only): Measure at the widest point of the buttocks

Body Fat Categories

For men:

  • Essential fat: 2-5%
  • Athletes: 6-13%
  • Fitness: 14-17%
  • Acceptable: 18-24%
  • Obesity: 25% or higher

For women:

  • Essential fat: 10-13%
