Understanding Statistical Measures

Mean (Average)

The mean is the sum of all numbers divided by the count of numbers. It represents the central tendency of the dataset.

Median

The median is the middle value when numbers are arranged in order. For an even count of numbers, it's the average of the two middle values.

Mode

The mode is the most frequently occurring number in the dataset. A dataset can have multiple modes or no mode at all.

Range

The range is the difference between the largest and smallest numbers in the dataset, showing the spread of values.

Standard Deviation

Standard deviation measures the amount of variation in a dataset. A lower standard deviation indicates that values tend to be closer to the mean.

Variance

Variance is the average of squared differences from the mean. It's the square of the standard deviation and helps understand data spread.
