Siding Squares Calculator

Calculate the number of siding squares needed for your project by entering wall or gable dimensions.

How to Calculate Siding Squares

Understanding Siding Squares

A square of siding covers 100 square feet of wall area. To calculate squares needed:

  1. Measure wall width and height in feet
  2. Multiply width × height to get square feet
  3. Divide total square feet by 100 to get squares
  4. Add 10% for waste and repairs

Tips for Accurate Measurements

  • Round measurements up to the nearest foot
  • Account for doors (typically 21 sq ft each)
  • Account for windows (measure individually)
  • For gables, use total width and peak height
