Understanding the Navy PRT
The Navy Physical Readiness Test (PRT) is a comprehensive assessment of a sailor's physical fitness level. It consists of three core components:
Test Components
- Push-ups: Measures upper body endurance
- Plank: Core strength assessment
- Cardio: Choose from 1.5-mile run, 2km row, or swim options
Recent Updates
As of 2023, the Navy has implemented several changes to the PRT:
- Plank has replaced curl-ups/sit-ups
- New scoring tables implemented
- Additional cardio options added
